Hello, I am Georgia, the owner of Bark's and Bubbles Specialist Dog Grooming Spa and Boutique. I have lived in Skelmersdale most of my life and now I have opened my very first salon here too. Although Barks and Bubbles is a brand-new salon, I have in-fact been working in the dog grooming industry for over eleven years. In this time, I have learnt so many skills as a dog groomer, and I have strictly held myself to an un-reachable bar of satisfactory grooming and care of dogs. That's why when opening the Salon, I have put 100% into it, by sourcing and using the best of the best. From the best equipment and products available to give your pooch the best spa like experience and styling possible. To the relaxing and luxury décor that I have personally designed with the peace, relaxation and spa like feel. Only expect the very best from Bark's and Bubble's, because what else would you expect for your fur baby's!

My love for dog's started at a young age, growing up I wanted to be a vet and my best friend was my King Charles Bob, although my dog Bob would disappear for a few hours every few weeks it never occurred to me where he was going. Funnily enough, years later I would start my very first job at that very place. Skelmersdale's very own 'Snip Doggy Dogg'.
At fifteen I started my Saturday job at snip doggy dogg, and I LOVED it! Dog grooming was definitely not what it is now, there was very much just snip dog and a few other independent groomers in Skelmersdale. As much as my dream was to open my own salon, the thought of opening my own was not something I thought I could do. After leaving school I carried on working at the parlour on any day I could get, as well as working at a fast food restaurant and going to college to start my law and business degree. As my aim was to open my own Law Practice.
Between college and my two jobs, the only place I was happy and thriving was at the parlour. With the dogs, meeting new dogs every day, bathing them, starting to style them and of-course lots of hugs and playing. At 18 and two years into my courses, I quit college and my other job and went full time with the dog grooming. I got my qualification and went full speed a head and I was truly happy and new that this job was what I wanted to do forever!
Over the years the thought of opening my own Salon was all I could think about, but never thought it was possible. So I continued in the parlour with the greatest supporter and teacher who taught me what it meant to be a successful dog groomer. over the years I dabbled in breed standard grooming, Asian fusion, creative and even trained trainee groomers. In 2017 I decided the time was right time to start meeting new clients, and Bark's and Bubble's was created, I got myself a few comfortable clients and continued working at the salon. But the the dream of my own parlour still weighed heavy on my mind.
And if Covid taught me anything, it was that life is to short!
'Dreams only come true, if you make them come true'
I wrote this quote on a post on social media, and once again started advertising. My goal was to eventually open my own salon, I put my heart and soul into everything and just six months later, my dreams were coming true. All them years of sketching out my imaginary shop, looking at inspiration, searching the internet for ideas even nearly building a shed in my back garden, my dream was finally coming true!
Soon enough I had the keys in my hand and myself and my partner went full speed ahead for two months. Every single night, we where at the parlour putting everything in to it! And now the Bark's and Bubble's salon is now COMPLETE AND OPEN TO ALL!
This salon has been created with a lot of love and passion and I hope when you visit my salon you can see that, and I hope that your pooch's feel the relaxed and loving atmosphere that we have created for them. With a unique and bespoke bathing area, all the way to our waiting areas that have plenty of space and toys for your pooch while waiting for you, to our famous 'pik n mix' area, our pupachino area, here they experience only the best, their one of a kind pamper, at Bark's and Bubble's.
