Aggressive and Nervous Dog's

Throughout my time at my previous workplace I studied and also gained the experience in handling all types of dog's. And I understand that dogs are not black and white, they have experience in life that may be unknown, they have their own thoughts, their own feelings and their own ways of expressing them self's. Some choose to do that by barking, cowering, biting or even defecating.

This is why I wanted to learn about dog psychology, the complex understanding of the dogs brain and how to confidently and calmly help them over come their fears and redirect their brain during their grooming to positivity instead of negativity.

I have clients who have brought their dogs to me, who have had bad experience in life and at groomers and within a few sessions, sometimes even one. They are a brand-new confident pup and now handle their groom like an absolute boss. Not to mention now have a great relationship with me as their groomer.

Weather your dog is nervous about their time at the parlour or they act out with aggressive outbursts to communicate their feelings, I can guarantee I am the groomer for you. I really enjoy working with these types of personalities because I love turning their experiences around and helping them enjoy their groom and make a loving and trusting relationship with me as their groomer.

Being nervous is completely understandable for your pup's, also acting out in aggression is more common and more complex than people understand. And with the right understanding and communication's we can either easily or eventually turn your pups fears around. When you book your pooch in with Bark's and Bubble's, I will book a meet and greet session with you before your appointment to discuss the need's of your dog and also to allow the dog to meet myself and introduce them to the parlour before they get their pamper. I will also give you a few tips to help you and help your pup. This is great for rescues and dogs who have had previous negative experiences. We will access all situations and go forward with the best plan to provide the best outcome.

Please note: With dogs that act out in aggression I do charge a fee, (Depending how long the groom takes) this is only because the session takes a-lot longer than a normal grooming session. Once we have de-sensitive your pup, the fee will be taken off and you will only be charged the standard grooming price. This is only a £5-£10 fee, depending of how aggressive your dog is. Please understand this is well below the standard aggression charge in the grooming industry, as most groomers don't think it is worth losing a finger for. However, I enjoy this part of the job as I am good at it, I only charge the fee because of time.

However, In EXTREME cases we do suggest a mild sedation, this can be purchased of your vet, they will also advice you on the recommended dose and time stamp. EXTREME aggression also comes with a charge. depending on the time taken on the dog, the coat condition and the severity of the aggression.
