Terms & Conditions

Usually Terms & Conditions are a bunch of legal jargon to confuse clients. However, it is extremely important that you as the customer understand the terms and conditions of barks and bubbles. That is why I have written the t&s's in the most simplest form. If anything you read does not make sense or you need me to explain in detail please don't hesitate to ask.

Booking's, Late appointments, Cancelations and Missed appointments.

  • When booking your appointment, it is down to you to inform me of any behavioural or health problems.
  • All new customers must pay a £10 deposit before we confirm your booking. This is non refundable unless cancelled before 48hrs of the appointment.
  • If you are later to your appointment by more than 10 minutes, we have the right to refuse service. This is due to the fact that we will then be late to other appointments throughout the day. And you will be charged the half price fee, this is non negotiable.
  • If for any reason you need to reschedule your appointment, you must give us 48hr notice. Otherwise, you would need to pay a cancellation fee of half price of the groom to be booked back in again.
  • If you miss your appointment on the day, then you will have to pay half price for the missed appointment before I book you back in (via bank transfer).
  • If you miss your appointment for the second time, I would then need half of the missed appointment fee AND the FULL payment for your next groom which is non-refundable.
  • If for any reason you miss your appointments more than three times unfortunately, I would have to refuse your custom. As a small business I rely on your custom to pay my bills. And cannot risk loss of time or money.
  • Christmas appointments require full payment if canceled less than 48hrs before the appointment. This is non-negotiable, and I hope understood.
  • We work on a one to one basis with your poochs, we aim to only have one dog per member of staff in the parlour at one time.  With this we ask that you do not turn up early for your appointments, as our attention will be on the dog that we already have in our care and this could disrupt the running of the parlour.

My rights.

  • Please understand I have the right to refuse service to any client.
  • I will not stand for abusive language or intimidating behaviours and will call the police if I feel threatened.
  • If you bring me a dog that has aggressive natures and you do not tell me before the appointment and i only find out in the parlour when handling the dog. I have the right to refuse service and the full payment will be required.
  • The parlour is locked at all times, the only people who can enter are those with an appointment. I am under no obligation to open the door to anyone without an appointment. if you need to book in you can call 07979967715 or contact on one of our many social media platforms.
  • All new customers must pay for my services before the groom, regular customers do not need to do this.
  • Cash and bank transfers only. if for any reason, you need to pop back out to the cash machine, I have the right to hold your dog until you come back with full payment (don't worry our parlour is a doggy haven, they will have lots of fun waiting).
  • I am more than happy to keep hold of your pooch for an extra hour or two in some circumstances if I am told beforehand or in an emergency.  However, I do give you a call ten minutes before they are done to give you enough time to come and get them from their pamper day. However, we ask that you are considerate and pick up your pooch within a twenty-minute time frame. As I have other appointments that need my 100% attention and I also have to leave by a certain time to collect my daughter from school. Any dog left without no explanation after forty minutes, owners are then charged ten pound per hour for my "day-care" services.
  • We May use your pups pictures for our socials, using our services means you agree to this. However if you do not please let us know and we will be more than happy to take them down.

Matted Dogs

  • Under the Animal Welfare Act (2006), it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal; this includes de-matting which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog.
  • If your dog is severe matted, we will have no option but to clip short we will discuss this with you beforehand. And you must sign a waiver stating you understand your dog will be clipped short, they will look extremely different and feel different. This is explained more on the link here. We have the right to refuse service if you do not agree to the wavier. This is to protect ourselves from malicious.
  • Depending on how matted your pooch is we may charge a matting fee.
  • You understand that when dealing with a matted dog, we need to take our time, give regular breaks and put your pet first. We will not rush this process as doing this can cause upset and discomfort and possibly injury which we are not held accountable for.

Health and Welfare Of Your Dog.

  • While your pets are in our care their health and safety are our main priority. This means that all measures are made to ensure that their needs, wants and health and safety are being met.
  • All grooming will be carried out under the guidance of our Mission statement "Sanity before Vanity" this means that we will only do what your dog allows us to do. We do not believe in force grooming; this means that we will only do what your pup can tolerate. Older dogs are more prone to things such as arthritis, so sitting down for their groom is imperative to their health and comfort. which may mean we don't get the best style; however, your pet is our number one priority not the style.
  • If your pooch tries to bite myself, or another staff member, and I feel our health and safety is being jeopardized. I have the right to refuse service, however in most cases I ask that you the owner buy them a muzzle specifically for them and put it on them before the groom. This has only had to be done twice in my career, in most cases I can use one of the muzzles that we provide and continue the groom. However, if your dog needs the later, I will inform you.
  • Although extremely unlikely, but possible with all grooming services, there is always a risk of injury when working with sharp scissors and wriggly animals. We take every precaution to ensure that this does not happen to your pooch, however in the unlikely scenario it does. We will evaluate and act accordingly to your dog's needs.
  • if veterinary attention is needed, we will cover all costs. This is only paid with vet reports provided to barks and bubbles that states we are to blame. IF we feel it is malicious we have the right to seek legal action.

Complaints and Refunds

  • Barks and bubbles is something I have created myself. Myself and my family have put months of dedication into this parlour, it is something love doing and hope to make all of my customers happy.
  • if for any reason you are not happy with my service please tell me, so I can make it right for you. Because I want all of my clients to be happy with my services.
  • If you feel like you need to complain please phone, text or email and your complaint will be dealt with accordingly.
  • Refunds are not given; I go into depth with you as the owner to understand what type of style you are wanting for you pooch. I love receiving pictures of inspiration too, but please understand that all dogs fur is different, and I may not be able to get your pooch exactly as you may imagine however I do try my best and will inform you of this.
  • I work the hours and spend the time creating the look you want. I do not just run a apair of clippers on your dog and throw them out. i put time and effort into your dogs pamper. However, if you are unhappy with the outcome, please raise it with me and I will do my best to rectify this. Refunds are not given because you do not like the cut.

Working with aggressive dogs and nervous dogs with past grooming trauma.

  • If I am working with your dog who is aggressive or nervous because of past trauma at another grooms. please understand that you MUST stick to a grooming schedule.
  • leaving your dog for long periods of time between grooming and then expecting me to wave a magic wand is unfeasible and i have the right to refuse service.
  • If for any reason you take your dog to another groomer after me fixing their problems and try to book in again. I will refuse your custom. it is not fair on me to dedicate my time and energy to fix problems caused by other groomers to then have to fix them all over again because they are cheaper.
  • I do have a charge,  as it takes a lot more energy, time and in some cases I may need to book longer slots for your dogs or require another member of staff to help. However, once we have fixed any problems, the fee will be waived and you will be charged as normal to their breed and cut.
